Conflict resolution

Hello there design aficionados!

What a whirlwind it has been! We arrived to our new home just a week ago. Since we arrived we celebrated my daughter’s baby shower where family and friends abundantly blessed the expectant one. We had a wonderful time. The event planner, Andrea O created a space we were over the moon about.

Exhausted from the days events we were asleep in no time. But in the wee hours of the morning, I was awakened by my daughter calling saying she was in labor. Just a few short hours later her son was born. While he showed up a tad early all is well. We are just beaming with pride on his progress and how perfect he is!

In the midst of this excitement, let us not forget Mr Man of Action and I moved to a new home. Let me tell you it is no easy feat!

  1. Moving is tough!

I’m grateful to my knowledge from helping others for over 20 years that led me to create The Panache Assessment, a digital download checklist that breaks down how to sell your home. We were able to sell quickly in this cooling market for over asking! I could not have asked for anything better.

2. Renting is hard

We moved to a rental house so we have a chance to scout the area out before we buy. With all rentals you don’t always get what you think you’ll get. It’s a chance we chose to take. In the end we know things will work out.

It may not be your kind of clean or even your decor. I would have to say it’s true on both those points. However, we will leave it better than we found it, a guiding principle in my life and business.

In the end this home has a

  • pool ,

  • room for us and to entertain our family and friends and

  • has great light,

  • is close to our daughter and her family,

  • and a landlord who is working with our needs and a

  • husband who can get it done!

A room is not a room without natural light.” – Louis Kahn

3. Finding solutions

A few days after we moved in our clothes had been hung in the closet. We were sitting in the living room when to our shock we heard a loud crash! All of our clothes were on the floor along with the shelving unit. Mr. Man of Action was able to purchase a heavy duty shelving unit and got it installed right away. Whew!

Things I am grateful for:

A new stronger shelving system that holds our clothes

Schenley steamer with grout attachment

5 in 1 tool—remove paint overspray

New hot water tank, new bladder tank

Mr Man of Action

CLR—eco friendly way to remove lime

Old English

I found this quote and I must have heard it early in adult hood and put it into my identity, because it is hard wired to not rest until I do.

“I am going to make everything around me beautiful—that will be my life.” – Elsie De Wolfe

But I have a question for you to ponder this week.

“How far would you go in a rental home to make it your own?”
